City tour of island capital Port Louis with attractions like Fort Adelaide, Jummah Mosque, the colonial post office and the Prime Minister’s Office. Stop at Aapravasi Ghat, where the first indentured labourers once arrived. Continuing north, we discover the foreign world of Kalaisson Hindu temple in Terre Rouge, where peacock calls accompany the sound of the temple bells. Afterwards, we visit St. Francis Church in Pamplemousses, actually the first Catholic Church built in Mauritius. We also take a look at the historical cemetery, the slave bath and auction monument. Lunch is taken at a Creole style restaurant. Afterward we continue to perfectly restored Chateau Labourdonnais, where we catch a glimpse of colonial living. Last highlight of the trip is a visit of the red-roofed fisherman’s church Notre Dame Auxiliatrice at Cap Malheureux. Possibility of a quick swim at the beach by the church
