There is much more to an island holiday than hanging out on the beach! A great way to get a great suntan is certainly to be spending a day on a Bio-farm. Toil with the soil, get grounded and deeply relaxed; harvest the fruits of your labour in harmony with Mother Nature, and recharge your batteries by balancing body, mind and soul.
Bio City Farm is a bio-social project located in the Hinterland of Tombeau Bay. Its founders, a bunch of nature lovers with an underprivileged social background, decided one fine day to join forces and plant their own food on a plot of abandoned land. They did a remarkable job and you can help them for a day.
The work you will do matches your physical capacity and varies according to season. So you might plant, water, or even harvest your own lunch. Swapping stories with the farmers and sharing a few songs is also a part of this special day.
The Other Side is your choice of getting to know Mauritius on a profound level; looking at those places which are not visited by the average tourist and yet might provoke the deepest and most colourful memories of your island visit.
