The Wild Side West

The day starts out with a visit of the Salines du Yemen in Tamarin, as due to the heat those last existing salt pans in Mauritius are worked in the early morning hours only. After tasting the uniquely flavoured “Fleur du Sel” which was manufactured there since generations, we put on our hiking shoes for a mountain hike through the National Park. Lunch is enjoyed in the midst of nature and we not only discover this biosphere for rare fauna and flora, but also enjoy a dip in the river by a waterfall. Relaxed and happy, we head back to the hotel.
